LA CROSSE, WI – The St. Cloud Rox (12-6) split the series against the La Crosse Loggers (4-12), dropping game two with a 5-2 final score, Friday, June 16th. In the Great Plains West division, the Rox sit among the top teams in the division.

The final pitcher for St. Cloud was Tommy Gross. Gross gave the Rox 2.0 innings of relief pitching, striking out three batters. He has yet to give up an earned run over three appearances, striking out seven batters in 6.0 innings pitched.

Ike Mezzenga was the main source of offense for St. Cloud, with a double and a home run, batting two runs in. Mezzenga got the Rox offense started early with a solo home run in the 1st inning, his 1st of the season. Ozzie Pratt had a leadoff double in the 8th inning, coming around to score for St. Cloud. Pratt has two doubles in just five games. Matt Goetzmann had three hits in the series, with a single in game two while drawing a walk in the 9th.

Hunter Day made his 3rd start of the 2023 season for St. Cloud, tossing his best outing of the season. Day went 5.0 innings, giving up just three hits and one earned run, striking out a season-high seven batters. Owen Marsh was the first pitcher out of the bullpen, throwing 1.0 inning and striking out a batter.
