ST. CLOUD, MN – The St. Cloud Rox (22-14) dropped game two of a four-game series against the Duluth Huskies (17-17) with a 9-5 final score, Wednesday, July 5th. The Rox come into the second half with 21 first half wins, one of the top marks across the league.
The starting pitcher for St. Cloud was Aidan Kidd. Kidd went 4.0 innings in his 5th start of the season, striking out six batters. So far this season, Kidd has a 3.80 ERA over 26.2 innings pitched with 26 strikeouts to nine walks. His 26.2 innings pitched and 26 strikeouts both rank 2nd on the team.
John Nett had another solid day at the plate, with an RBI double that plated three of St. Cloud’s five runs. Nett has six doubles and 16 RBI this season. Carson Keithley tallied two walks, a run scored, and an RBI. Kyle Jackson had a hit, a walk, and a run scored. Jackson has reached base in 28 of his 30 starts, with 25 hits and 28 walks this season.
Chris Brown made his 7th appearance of the season, completing 1.0 inning with a strikeout. Garrett Mclaughlin had an inning pitched with a strikeout. Mclaughlin has 13 strikeouts through 13.1 innings pitched this season. Gavin Jacobsen made his debut for the Rox, throwing the final 3.0 innings, shutting out the Huskies and tallying six strikeouts.
