ST. CLOUD, MN – The St. Cloud Rox (31-20) took game one of a two-game series against the Bismarck Larks (21-32) with a 4-3 final score, Saturday, July 22nd. The Rox have one of the top overall records across the league this season.

The starting pitcher for St. Cloud was Cade Lommel. Lommel had 3.0 innings pitched, striking out a batter in his 7thstart of the season. Lommel’s 3.97 ERA over 34.0 innings pitched with 28 strikeouts earned him a 2023 Great Plains West All-Star bid.

Sawyer Smith knocked his first double for the Rox in the 1st inning, sending a run home in St. Cloud’s four-run 1stinning. Oscar Serratos had two hits in the victory, batting a run in and coming around to score once. Serratos has two hits in each of his first two games. Jackson Hauge had a double and a run scored, extending his team-lead in doubles (12).

Chris Brown worked through a career-high 4.0 innings pitched, striking out two batters while keeping Bismarck scoreless. Brown has a 4.91 ERA and 11 strikeouts over 14.2 innings pitched this season. Andrew Morones had another shutout inning in his 10th appearance, now with a 1.88 ERA over 14.1 innings pitched. Mason Olson shut down the Larks in the 9th inning, striking out a batter en route to his team-leading 6th save. Olson has a 2.25 ERA and 13 strikeouts through 8.1 innings pitched this season.
