SPECIAL TEAM, SPECIAL PLAYERS, SPECIAL RECORDS

The 2024 Rox club wrote their names in the history books over their last three games to as they swept their three game homestead out of the all-star break. Jackson Hauge hit his eleventh home run of the season which has set him all alone in the Rox franchise record books passing Adam Martin for the single season home run record. Ben Higdon also went yard twice over those three contests giving the Rox their 55th big fly of the campaign which puts the 2024 club in first place in franchise history for bombs in a single season. Sawyer Smith is also just one swiped bag away from breaking the Rox single season individual stolen base record set in 2017 by Drew Avans as well. The Rox have not been defeated since July 13 and are only one win away from tying the 2021 team for most consecutive wins as that iteration of the Rox won 12 straight games from June 17 to June 27.

PROBABLE STARTERS (SUBJECT TO CHANGE)

STC- Piercen McElyea is slated to make his first road start and ninth total on the season. McElyea, who was a NWL all-star last season has pitched his way to a team-leading 42 strikeouts this season to go with a 6.75 ERA. In his last start, McElyea was nails as he went five innings of one run ball while also collecting eight strikeouts in a winning effort for the Rox.

BBS- Peyton Gillean is scheduled to start for the Big Sticks tonight. A native of flushing Michigan, Gillean has only pitched in two innings for Badlands this season where he has walked three, allowed two hits and has allowed two runs. During the spring at Mid Michigan College, Gillean sported a 4.99 ERA across 30.2 innings. He walked 13, struck out 35 and allowed 25 hits across those innings in the spring across four starts and four relief appearances.
