ST.CLOUD, MN – The St. Cloud Rox are excited to welcome former Major League Baseball and Minnesota Twins pitcher Pat Mahomes as the special guest for their 2025 Home Opener on Friday, May 30. Mahomes will return to the mound in Minnesota for a ceremonial first pitch as the Rox take on the Badlands Big Sticks at 7:05 PM at Joe Faber Field.

Single-game tickets for the home opener and all Rox home games for the 2025 season will go on-sale starting at 10:00 AM (CST) on Thursday, April 24. Single game tickets will be available through stcloudrox.com, at the Rox ticket office or by calling 320-240-9798.

Mahomes, a right-handed pitcher, was drafted in the sixth round by the Minnesota Twins in 1988 and spent 11 seasons in the Major Leagues from 1992 to 2003. During his MLB career, he played for the Twins, Boston Red Sox, New York Mets, Texas Rangers, Chicago Cubs and Pittsburgh Pirates. He made his major league debut with the Twins in 1992, just six games into the season, throwing six innings against the Texas Rangers. Mahomes appeared in 308 MLB games, amassing 452 career strikeouts. As a member of the Twins, he pitched in 145 games and recorded 253 strikeouts.

In 2000, Mahomes reached the pinnacle of the sport when he played in the World Series with the New York Mets, adding a memorable chapter to his career.

Mahomes will not only be in St. Cloud to throw the first pitch, he will also be available for autographs and photos starting when the gates open 6:05 PM.

The Rox home opener presented by Coborn’s on May 30 will include a huge post-game firework show. The first 1,500 fans will also receive a magnet schedule.
