“FAST” START

St. Cloud set a number of offensive records last season, and have began this season looking to surpass those records already. The Rox already have nine stolen bases with Tanner Recchio already having swiped five bags on his own. The Rox have shown speed all around the base paths and have manufactured a number of runs by using their threat of speed to force opponents to make errors and errant plays. The Rox forced Minot to commit five errors over the first two games of the season, two of which were by their catchers.

PITCHING POWER

Rox pitching has gotten off to a fantastic start. Starters in particular have had an immaculate run thus far with both Wesley Johnson and JP Robertson having gone five shutout innings with nine combined strikeouts in the first two games of the season. The bullpen has been strong too, only surrendering three runs in their eight innings of work this. 2024 All-Star and 4th year returner Brandon Jaenke picked up his first save of the season yesterday in the 6-3 victory over the Minot Hot Tots.

PROBABLE STARTERS (SUBJECT TO CHANGE)

STC- St. Cloud will throw Marcus Kruzan for the first time this year. The sophomore from the University of St. Thomas started 13 games this Spring with the Tommies. Across those games, he struck out 58 batters in 78.2 innings. Kruzan pitched in one game vs Bismarck last year, where he struck out four batters in his two innings of work.

BIS- Kai Taylor gets the ball in what will be his first start of the 2025 season. Taylor; who is a senior at Augustana (SD), pitched 39 innings with the Vikings this past season with an ERA of 2.54 while adding 35 strikeouts to his resume. Against the Rox in his career, he has pitched in 3 games and holds an ERA of 0.96 in 9.1 innings pitched.
