ST. CLOUD, MN- Former St. Cloud Rox standout Otto Kemp made his Major League debut on June 7 with the Philadelphia Phillies in a game against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Kemp, a 2021 alum of the St. Cloud Rox and former collegiate player at Point Loma Nazarene University, signed with the Phillies as an undrafted free agent in 2022. During his 2021 season with the Rox, Kemp appeared in 59 games, posting a .306 batting average with six home runs, four triples and 16 doubles. He recorded 42 RBIs, scored 53 runs and stole seven bases. His standout performance earned him MVP honors as the 2021 Northwoods League All-Star Game “Star of Stars.”
Over four seasons in the Phillies’ minor league system, Kemp played in 306 games, hitting .272 with 37 home runs, 177 RBIs, 212 runs scored and 54 stolen bases.
In his Major League debut, Kemp started at third base and went 0-for-3 at the plate.
The Rox will complete a three-game homestand at Joe Faber Field against the Mankato MoonDogs on Monday, June 9.
