LAST TIME OUT

The Rox put together a hodge-podge of odd baseball in order to secure their 14th win of the year on Saturday at Joe Faber Field.

Dominic Smaldino got the scoring started for St. Cloud in the bottom of the first inning with his fifth home run of the year to give the Rox an early 1-0 lead. Minot would even it up at one, but Austin Haley singled home Tanner Recchio to give the Rox the lead back.

Minot would then take a 6-2 lead, but St. Cloud battled back in the later innings with some opportune hitting by Tanner Recchio to make it a one-run game going into the bottom of the ninth.

The bases would be loaded with nobody out after the Rox tied it up in the bottom of the ninth, and Austin Haley would be struck by a pitch to give the Rox the walk-off victory.

NWL STATS LEADERBOARD

The Rox have a lot of players that find themselves toward the top of statistical categories in the league. Austin Haley is fifth in the NWL in RBI’s and second in runs scored. Tanner Recchio sits fourth in the stolen bases department. Tyson LeBlanc has struck out the fifth least amount of times among qualified hitters in the league. The Rox total offense is third in the league in ISO%, and ninth in stolen bases.

On the pitching side, JP Robertson leads the league in K/9 among qualified pitchers, Brandon Jaenke is first in the league in saves, while the Rox as a team have the best ERA in the league at 3.05.
