ST. CLOUD, MN – The St. Cloud Rox (34-14) dropped a 9-1 contest to Mankato MoonDogs (23-28) on Friday, and will retake the field on Saturday.
St. Cloud received a jumpstart on offense out of the gate and stacked together a pair of hits in the first inning, including a powerful RBI double from Joshua Dykhoff (University of Minnesota-Crookston) to bring home Tyson LeBlanc (University of Kansas) and give the Rox a 1-0 lead.
The Rox were able to tally nine hits in the contest, but were unable to overcome a nine-run fourth inning from the MoonDogs, falling 9-1.
The first-half Great Plains West champion Rox will take on Mankato again on Saturday at Joe Faber Field.
The All-Star Trophy and Awards Star of the Game was Tyson LeBlanc.
St. Cloud plays Mankato again at home on Saturday, July 19th, at 6:05 p.m. with a Team Trading Card Set Giveaway for the first 500 fans at the ballpark, presented by Blaze Credit Union.
