LA CROSSE, WI  – The St. Cloud Rox (37-24) fell just short against the La Crosse Loggers (39-20) 4-3 on Thursday and will have the opportunity to split the road series in game two on Friday.

The offense found a rhythm quickly, scoring three runs in the top of the first inning. The Rox tallied three hits in the frame, including an RBI single from Brett White (University of Iowa) and an RBI double from Jaixen Frost (University of Iowa) to take the 3-0 advantage.

Levi Nyberg (American River CC) impressed in relief on the mound, delivering 4.2 innings of work while allowing just one run. Nyberg struck out five batters and didn’t issue a walk in the outing.

The defense played strong with Nyberg by creating two double plays in the game.

Ultimately, La Crosse rallied in the final two innings to win the game 4-3, but St. Cloud has the chance to split the road series on Friday in game two at 6:35 PM.
