Waterloo, IA – St. Cloud (2-0) held on in the late innings on Tuesday night to pull out a 5-3 win over Waterloo (0-2) and finish off a sweep to start the season.

The Rox got more contributions from the top of the order with Josh Cowden (BYU) recording three hits for the second consecutive game. Cowden’s triple in the sixth inning brought in two runs that gave St. Cloud the lead for good.

Charlie Condon (Georgia) hit a home run for the second straight day with a towering two-run blast to straightaway center field. Condon now has five RBI’s early in the 2022 summer.

Kaden Krowka (Tarleton State) got the ball to start the game and allowed just one run on two hits in his three innings on the mound. Krowka struck out three batters before giving way to the bullpen.

The win was earned by Logan Herrera (Minot State) after he threw two innings in relief, allowing no earned runs on just two hits.

In the eighth inning, Chase Grillo (Washington State) entered the game with the tying run on base and two outs. Grillo got a huge strike out to end the inning and closed it out in the ninth for a four-out save.

The Rox head to La Crosse to complete their four-game road trip with a two-game series against the Loggers. First pitch from Copeland Park is at 6:35 pm. St. Cloud’s home opener is scheduled for 7:05 pm on Friday against the Minnesota Mud Puppies with post game fireworks at Joe Faber Field.
