St. Cloud, MN – St. Cloud (14-3) blanked Mankato (10-10) for the third straight time to take a 9-0 win on Saturday night at the Rock Pile.

The Rox scored almost all of their runs in the second inning, with an eight-run frame. Jack Steil (Nebraska) and Charlie Condon (Georgia) each singled to drive in a run for the Rox to help them take a 4-0 lead.

The rest of the damage in the inning came on one swing from Brady Prewitt (CSU-Pueblo). Prewitt’s first home run of the season was a grand slam over the left-field fence that helped the Rox pull away early.

Nathan Culley (Minnesota State-Mankato) made his third start of the season on Saturday and continued his dominance. Culley allowed no runs on just three hits in his five innings on the bump and struck out five MoonDogs batters.

The bullpen cleaned up with four scoreless frames out of Derek Lilledahl (Minnesota State-Mankato) and Carter Petron (Southwest Minnesota State). Petron stranded the bases loaded in the ninth to close out the Rox’ second straight shutout.
