CLUTCH x2
Last night against Mankato, the Rox struck for three in the bottom of the sixth inning when Will Henson drilled a go-ahead three-run homerun to take the lead 3-2. The Rox would not look back as they would add two more the next inning on a Ben Higdon sac-fly and a Jackson Hauge solo blast.
Rox pitching also did not allow an earned run all game and the bullpen came in and pitched five scoreless innings on the back of Brigden Parker’s solid start. Phill Brennaman would work out of multiple jams and Aydan Decker-Petty would slam the door shut in the eighth and ninth contributing a six out save.
PROBABLE STARTERS
STC- Kristopher Sosnowski is slated to make his first start of the summer for the Rox tonight. Sosnowski has made one appearance this season for St. Cloud where he struck out two in his one inning of work in Bismarck last week. With UCF this spring, he totaled 37.1 innings pitched, struck out 40, walked nine and compiled a 3.38 ERA.
BBS- JD Kirchner is scheduled to make the start for Badlands tonight. The Dakota State University student-athlete has pitched in six games this season and has racked up 11 innings over those games. He has struck out 14 and walked 14 in those innings as well as allowing 11 earned runs over his 62 batters faced.
