St. Cloud, MN The St. Cloud Rox Baseball Club announced the 20 finalists for their mascot name today.  The winning name will be announced at their mascot unveiling on Thursday, March 20th at Brothers Bar & Grill in St. Cloud.  The mascot unveiling event will start at 7:00 p.m. and is open to the public.  There will be no charge for admission, hors d’oeuvres will be served and fans will have a chance to win prizes.

Names included in the 20 finalists are: Axel, Bambino, Blast, Boulder, Brutus Rox, Buster, Chipper, Chisel, Crusher, Cutter, Driller, Gem, Homer, Lou Brox, Pickaxe Pete, Quarry Koskie, Rocky, Roxford, Rusty, and Ulysses S. Granite.

The 20 finalists were names selected from hundreds of submissions made during the ‘name your mascot contest’ which took place in January where fans could submit names for the new mascot.  The fan that submitted the selected mascot name will receive a pair of season tickets for the 2014 Rox season, a picture with the mascot at an unveiling event, and a private appearance at the his/her choice of a local school. 

The list will be narrowed down to 10 finalists Wednesday evening.  Throughout the afternoon on Thursday the list will be narrowed down on the Rox social media accounts one at a time until the five finalists are named at 5:00 p.m., with the winning name announced at the 7:00 p.m. unveiling event.  

The Rox home opener is Friday, May 30th at 7:05p.m. at Joe Faber Field presented by Coborn’s.  There will be a post-game fireworks show.  For Rox season tickets and/or partial ticket plans please call (320) 240-9798.

The St. Cloud Rox are a member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League.
