LAST TIME OUT

The St. Cloud Rox (35-17) found themselves back in the win column after defeating the Rochester Honkers (14-42) 10-4 on Tuesday.

Rox Starting Pitcher Jaron Bleeker (University of Iowa) set the tone early, striking out the side in the first, and eventually ending his night after four complete innings of work with six strikeouts.

The Rox found the scoreboard early, scoring three runs in the second inning, with Alex Dupuy (University of Alabama-Birmingham) capping off the frame with an RBI Single.

St. Cloud scored another two runs in the third from a Jackson Cooke (University of Pittsburgh) two-run double.

Four runs were added in the seventh inning, yet again topped off by another Dupuy double, this time scoring two runs in one swing.

After Cooke brought in an insurance run in the bottom of the eighth, Pitcher Brandon Jaenke (University of Minnesota) closed out another game on the mound to secure a Rox victory.

HAUGE RETURNS HOME

Jackson Hauge has returned to the St. Cloud Rox for his fourth season in the NWL. A first baseman from Ramsey and the University of Kansas, he played 31 games for the Minnesota Mud Puppies in 2022 before hitting .306 with 51 RBI in 61 games for St. Cloud in 2023. The 2023 Great Plains Home Run Derby Challenge champion hit a .313 batting-average last season and broke the Rox single-season long-ball record with 12. He hit 20 home runs with 70 RBI with Kansas this past spring where he was an All Big-12 player as well as named a Rawlings All-American.

PROBABLE STARTERS (SUBJECT TO CHANGE)

STC- JJ Hollis starts the final game between St. Cloud and Rochester this season. Hollis holds a 7.71 ERA this season for the Rox with eight strikeouts, 11 hits, and seven walks across 9.1 innings pitched this season. He has settled in nicely after a rocky start to the season. He pitched five innings of one run (unearned) ball in his last start vs Waterloo with four strikeouts and five walks while only allowing two hits back on July 11.

ROC- Christian Galindo will make his second appearance this season for the Honkers. Galindo has only pitched once this season for Rochester and it was a scoreless inning with a walk against Thunder Bay on July 19. Galindo hails from the Mars Hill Mountain Lions in the South Atlantic Conference. He pitched to the tune of a 10.13 ERA in 13.1 innings this past spring where he struck out nine, walked nine, and allowed 15 hits across 13.1 innings pitched.
