ST. CLOUD, MN – The St. Cloud Rox (40-27) fell 5-2 to the Mankato MoonDogs (35-33) on Thursday and will host the Minot Tots on Friday, August 7th, at 7:05 PM with post-game fireworks.

The Rox have clinched the best regular-season win percentage in the Great Plains West, which means the Rox have home-field advantage in a best-of-three series against the Willmar Stingers to open the postseason. The first playoff game at Joe Faber Field will be on Monday, August 10th, and you can purchase playoff tickets here.

The Rox took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning as Colton Rother (University of Kansas) crushed the ball for his second home run of the season, scoring two for St. Cloud.

Defensively, Brandon Pelechowicz (American River CC) pitched the first 5.1 innings of the game and racked up five strikeouts in his fourth start of the season.

Following Pelechowicz, JR Tollett (University of Louisiana-Lafayette) pitched the final 3.2 innings for the Rox. Tollett recorded 11 outs in just 39 pitches as he worked efficiently against Mankato’s offense.

The Rox would get two runners on base in the bottom of the ninth, but the rally fell just short. The Rox will continue the four-game homestand to end the regular season by facing the Minot Hot Tots at 7:05 PM on Friday, August 7th.

The All-Star Trophy and Awards Star of the Game is JR Tollett.

The next Rox home game is Friday, August 7th, at 7:05 PM against the Minot Hot Tots, presented by Waste Management. There will be Friday Night Fireworks after the game, as well as Launch-A-Ball. (Baseball’s version of Chuck-a-Puck) Fans will have an opportunity to purchase balls to toss on the field after the game for a chance to win $200 in Scheels gift cards. Proceeds benefit Sauk Rapids Youth Baseball.

The 2026 season is presented by Eide Chrysler St. Cloud.
