Rox Fall to MoonDogs in Wednesday Night Contest

St. Cloud, MN – The St. Cloud Rox tallied as many hits as the Mankato MoonDogs Wednesday night but could not get as many runs across as they fell to the MoonDogs 7-1 at Joe Faber Field. Each team tallied nine hits in the contest, with the only run for the Rox (14-13, 33-29) coming in the sixth inning off an RBI groundout from Seth Heck to score Will Craig.

Josh Taylor took the loss (1-2) for the Rox as he threw the first six innings and allowed one earned run on six hits while striking out four before being relieved by Trevor Charpie to start the seventh inning. Charpie was relieved by Dalton Sawyer in the same inning and Chad Hockin tossed the ninth for the Rox as he and Sawyer allowed three runs in the final three innings with Sawyer striking out two.

Seven different Rox players tallied hits in the loss as Chris Paul finished 2-for-3 with two doubles, which gives him 15 on the season, and two walks. Craig also finished with two hits, including a double and the lone run scored for the Rox while Heck also doubled.
