    St. Cloud, MN – Seven St. Cloud Rox players have been selected to represent the North division in the 2016 Northwoods League All Star Game, the league announced Friday. Four Rox position players were selected, including Luke Ringhofer (South Dakota State), Drew Freedman (Wake Forest), Ricky Ramirez (McNeese State), and TJ Friedl (Nevada) who is currently playing with the United States Collegiate National Team. Three St. Cloud pitchers made the roster, including Austin Dubsky (Murray State), Collin Strall (LSU), and Logan Salow (Kentucky). 

    St. Cloud’s seven selections leads all teams in the Northwoods League, with two other teams tied for second most at five All-Star selections. It is also the most selections in Rox franchise history, topping the previous best of three set in 2013 and 2014

    All of the Rox All-Star position players have impressed at the plate this season. Ringhofer is second in the league with 32 walks in 30 games. He has an on base percentage of .459, which ranks fifth in the league. Freedman also is among the league leaders for OBP, sittinging second with a .495 mark. Freedman has a batting average of .351, which is third highest among qualified hitters. Ramirez is tied for the fourth in the league with 46 hits. He also leads the Rox in both home runs and RBI this season. Friedl had a .373 batting average with 11 RBI and 12 stolen bases in 16 games for the Rox this season. He was named to the United State Collegiate National Team in late June and is currently representing his country with the team overseas.

    The Rox All-Star pitchers are also at the top of the league leader boards. Dubsky holds an impressive 1.13 ERA, which is third best among qualified pitchers. He is one of only five pitchers in the league to have thrown at least 40.0 innings this season, and is the only one of these pitchers to accomplish that feat with fewer than seven starts. Strall has put together a 0.95 ERA in a team-high 12 appearances this season. He has struck out 23 batters in 28.1 innings this season, and is tied for fourth in the league with five saves. Salow has been a strikeout machine for the Rox this season, sending down 37 batters in 30.2 innings. His strikeout total is the fourth best in the league.

    The 2016 Northwoods League All-Star Game will be played on Tuesday, July 19th at 7:05 p.m. at Simmons Field in Kenosha, Wisconsin.     The St. Cloud All-Stars will be back in action at Joe Faber Field on Sunday, July 10th as they take on the La Crosse Loggers at 7:05 p.m. It will be Super Hero Night presented by Mobil Super! Come out to the Rock Pile dressed as your favorite super hero! It will also be Coborn’s Kid’s Day. Kids have the opportunity to run the bases after the game and get autographs on the field.
