St. Cloud, MN – The St. Cloud Rox saw a total of 11 players selected in the 2018 Major League Baseball Draft.

Throughout the course of the two-day draft, the Rox had five players taken from the 2016 team, six players from the 2017 Northwoods League Championship team and one player from both the 2016 and 2017 seasons.

On Tuesday, Nick Bush (2016 Rox pitcher, Louisiana State) started things off after being selected in the eighth round by the Colorado Rockies.

On Wednesday, it was a busy day for former Rox players, as 10 players were selected.

Rayne Supple (2016 Rox pitcher, Wake Forest) was selected in the 13th round by the Colorado Rockies, Trevor Putzig (2017 Rox infielder, Tennessee Tech) was picked in the 17th round by the Baltimore Orioles, Shelby Lackey (2016-17 Rox pitcher, Pacific) was selected in the 18th round by the Rockies, Austin Briggs (2016 Rox pitcher, McNeese State) was selected in the 29th round by the Oakland Athletics, Brhet Bewley (2016 Rox infielder, San Diego), was picked in the 32nd round by the Kansas City Royals, Daniel Schneemann (2017 Rox infielder, Bringham Young) was selected in the 33rd round by the Cleveland Indians, Drew Avans (2017 Rox outfielder, Southeastern Louisiana) was selected in the 33rd round by the Los Angeles Dodgers, Jackson Rose (2017 Rox pitcher, Minnesota) was selected in the 35th round by the Miami Marlins, Dan Metzdorf (2016 Rox pitcher, Boston College) was selected in the 38th round by the New York Yankees and Shane Selman (2017 Rox outfielder, McNeese State) was picked in the 39th round by the Boston Red Sox.

The Rox have now had a total of 56 players selected in the Major League Baseball draft since 2013, including 2016 first round pick Will Craig.
