St. Cloud, MN – The St. Cloud Rox opened up a two-game series against the Bismarck Larks on Thursday night at the Rock Pile in front of a packed, sold out crowd at the Rock Pile.

The Rox came up short at the hands of the Larks in the game, falling 12-10 in front of 2,129 fans at Joe Faber Field.

Trailing 10-6 heading to the bottom half of the eighth inning, St. Cloud made an impressive comeback late by scoring four runs to tie the game up at 10-10. Bismarck ended up tallying two runs in the top of the ninth to take the game.

St. Cloud got on the board in the bottom of the first inning, scoring three runs to jump out to an early lead. Landon Stephens (Miami-Ohio) had an RBI single that ended up scoring a total of two runs due to an error. Ryan Weisenberg (Georgetown) capped the inning off with an RBI single to center, scoring Stephens.

The Rox added two more runs in the third inning and one in the sixth before adding four more in the eighth inning.

St. Cloud was led at the plate by Bobby Seymour (Wake Forest), who finished 3-for-5 with two RBI and one run scored. Stephens went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and one RBI, Ryland Kerr (Eastern Kentucky) went 2-for-5 with two runs scored and one RBI, while Noah Hill (BYU) added one hit and two RBI and Ryan Davis (Georgetown) had two hits and two runs scored.

Jack Cushing (Georgetown) pitched the first 3.2 innings to earn the no-decision. Jake Suddreth (BYU) pitched 2.1 innings, giving up just one run and striking out two, while Spencer Mraz (Miami-Ohio) pitched two hitless innings, followed by Sergio Esparza (Arkansas at Pine Bluff) throwing the final inning in relief.

St. Cloud (15-16 overall) is back in action against Bismarck at 7:05 p.m. Friday night back at the Rock Pile. The game will feature Friday Night Fireworks presented by Cornerstone Buffet & Restaurant. Immediately following the conclusion of the game, there will be a fireworks extravaganza beyond center field at the Rock Pile.
