Waterloo, IA – The Waterloo Bucks have announced that pitcher Scott Williams will return to play for the Bucks in 2010.  Currently a junior at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, Williams is the 14th player to be signed by Waterloo for the upcoming season and the ninth player to return from the Bucks’ 2009 squad.

Last season for the Bucks, Williams appeared in 16 games, starting 13.  The right-handed pitcher finished the season with a 3-6 record, a 3.51 ERA, and 55 strikeouts while walking just 35.

Originally from Portage, Wisconsin, Williams is eager to return to the Cedar Valley. “I’m excited to be back with the Bucks again this summer,” said Williams.  “I can’t wait to report to Waterloo in late-May.”

In 2009 for UW-Stevens Point, Williams finished with a 3-2 record and a 2.60 ERA, striking out 47 and holding opposing batters to a .165 average.  For his efforts with the Pointers, Williams was named to the All-Midwest Region second team by the American Baseball Coaches Association and the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference All-Conference first team.

The 6’1″, 200-pound hurler was a second team All-State selection as a high school senior at Baraboo High School in Baraboo, Wisconsin.

The Bucks will open the 2010 season at home on Wednesday, June 2 at 6:35 pm versus Wisconsin Rapids.  Season tickets and single-game tickets are currently on sale.  Fans are encouraged to stay in touch with the Bucks in the off-season by utilizing their website at www.waterloobucks.com.
