(La Crosse, WI) John Pappadopoulos will continue to serve as the play-by-play announcer for the La Crosse Loggers, team officials announced today. Pappadopoulos will be joined by Micah Schroeder, who enters his first year with the Loggers.

Pappadopoulos, AKA “Pops,” returns for his eighth season for the Loggers having called every game but one in the franchise’s seven years of existence. Pops continues to be the longest tenured play-by-play man in the Northwoods League.

Pappadopoulos’ experiences prior to the Loggers include play-by-play announcing for the former La Crosse Knight Train of the N.I.F.L., as well as the back-up voice for the former La Crosse Bobcats CBA basketball team. He also serves as the news and sports director for WCOW/WKLJ, and just completed his first season as public address announcer for Viterbo University men’s and women’s basketball.

Joining Pappadopoulos in the booth this season will be Micah Schroeder. Schroeder served as the Media Relations Director last season for the Wisconsin Woodchucks as he handled play-by-play duties as well as serving as the official scorer for Woodchucks home games.

Schroeder, a UW-Stevens Point graduate, also completed an internship in the sports information department at the university before graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication/Media Studies. He also has prior experience in the field as he broadcasted baseball, basketball, and football games for his alma mater.

The Logger Radio Network is back intact for the 2010 season as well. The Eagle, 102.7 FM (KQEG), will once again serve as the flagship of the LRN, broadcasting all 70 regular season games in HD. Joining KQEG in broadcasting all Logger games is ESPNRadio 1290 AM (Sparta), who will also be offering audio webcasting via the Loggers website, www.lacrosseloggers.com. Also returning is Q102.3 FM (Viroqua), who will broadcast two select games each week throughout the season.

Logger fans can tune into Pops and Schroeder on the LRN for the first time as the team opens the season at the Lumber Yard on June 2, 2010 when the Loggers host the Eau Claire Express in a home-and-home series to begin the season.
