(Waterloo, IA) The Waterloo Bucks have announced that right-handed pitcher Will Strack will be joining the team for the 2010 season. Currently, Strack is a sophomore at the University of Illinois and is the 17th player to sign with the Bucks for the summer. He will join Fighting Illini teammate Willie Argo on the squad.

So far this season for Illinois, Strack has started all six games he’s appeared in, holding a 1-1 record with a 5.74 ERA. In 31.1 innings pitched, the righty has struck out 24 while walking just 12.

Last season for Illinois, Strack appeared in 15 games, with a record of 6-1 which tied the school record for a freshman, and had a 3.84 ERA in 68 innings pitched. The 6’2″, 175-pounder started nine games, finishing the season being named to the All-Big Ten third team and to the Big Ten All-Freshman team.

A graduate of Sycamore High School in Sycamore, Illinois, Strack was named the 2008 Western Sun conference MVP, as well as an IHSBCA 3A/4A All-State first team pitcher. Strack went 9-2 with a 0.93 ERA during the 2008 season, with 97 strikeouts in 68 innings. During his senior year, Strack led Sycamore to a regional championship and was named Sycamore High School Athlete of the Year.

The Bucks will open the 2010 season at home on Wednesday, June 2 at 6:35 pm versus Wisconsin Rapids. Season tickets and single-game tickets are currently on sale. Fans are encouraged to stay in touch with the Bucks in the off-season by utilizing their website at www.waterloobucks.com.
