Keith Castillo former catcher for the Alexandria Beetles baseball team from 2007-2009 recently signed a minor league contract Saturday, February 19 with the Tampa Bay Rays.

Castillo still sits in the Beetles record book with one of the highest on base percentages as well as second in homeruns just short of Allen Craig’s first place record who is now playing for the St. Louis Cardinals.

Castillo will report to spring training in Port Charlotte, FL on March 3. He has been assigned to the Princeton Rays in Princeton, West Virginia who start their season June 20. The Beetles wish Keith the best of luck with his next step in baseball.
