The Rochester Honkers Baseball Club announced today the hiring of Zack Fisch as the new Voice of Rochester Honkers Baseball for the 2011 season.

Fisch currently serves as the Play-by-Play Broadcaster for Husky Productions telecasts of St. Cloud State Men’s NCAA hockey. A junior at St. Cloud State University, Fisch is also the Sports Director at KVSC 88.1 FM (St. Cloud, MN) and has three years of experience behind the microphone calling St. Cloud State athletics.

“I am beyond thrilled to join the Honkers organization and take the reigns as the team’s Play-by-Play broadcaster,” Fisch said. “To be a part of an organization that has such a rich history and great reputation is an honor. I’m very excited to get behind the microphone in June.”

Fisch takes over the microphone from Mike Wagenheim, who spent three seasons with the team and was unable to return due to his collegiate broadcasting responsibilities.

“I want to thank the Honkers, our fans and the community for a wonderful three years in Rochester,” said Wagenheim. “Zack is fortunate to have the opportunity to take over the microphone. I’ve heard nothing but good things about him and I know he’s going to do a great job.”

Fisch has also been the broadcaster for the Granite City Lumberjacks (St. Cloud, MN) of the Minnesota Junior Hockey League since 2009. He spent last summer as the Technical Producer on St. Cloud River Bats radio broadcasts. A native of Kansas City, Fisch is a four-time Minnesota Associated Press Broadcast award winner.

All 70 regular scheduled Rochester Honkers games and the post season will be heard again this season on Sports Radio AM 1520 “The Ticket” with Fisch having the call.
