LA CROSSE, WI – The La Crosse Loggers Baseball Club announced that they will be partnering with area organizations to host a special pre-season “Get Active Fan Fest” on Tuesday, May 29 as a way to kick off their 10-year anniversary season in 2012.
Fans of all ages are invited and encouraged to take part in the “Get Active Fan Fest” that will commence when the gates open at 5:00 p.m. at Copeland Park. This year’s event will feature at 2-mile and 1-mile fun run/walk that will begin and end inside of Copeland Park. A $10 entry fee for adults or $5 for kids 12 & under will grant entry into either of the 2-mile or 1-mile fun run/walks, a ticket to all Fan Fest events inside of Copeland Park, a voucher for a post-race healthy meal and an automatic entry into a drawing for Logger Fan Fest door prizes. Fans that don’t want to take part in the fun run/walk event can also enjoy Fan Fest activities for just $2. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Loggers ticket office at 608-796-9553 or by stopping by their 1225 Caledonia Street office in La Crosse.
The first 1,000 fans through the gate will receive a free 2012 magnet schedule compliments of Miller Lite and there will be informative booths setup along the concourse area at Copeland Park featuring representatives from “Get Active La Crosse County” partners. Members of the 2012 La Crosse Loggers team will also be on hand to sign autographs along with appearances from Logger mascots and the Veggie Racers. The Loggers will also conduct a press conference shortly after gates open to make an announcement regarding the addition of healthy eating options to the Copeland Park menu for the 2012 season.
Following the completion of the fun run/walk, fans will be encouraged to enjoy their healthy meal while listening to live music and kids of all ages will be invited onto the field to play in a “Future Loggers” wiffle ball game against members of the 2012 La Crosse Loggers.
The Loggers will officially begin their 2012 campaign on Wednesday, May 30 when they travel to Wisconsin Rapids to take on the Rafters at 7:05 p.m. in the first of a two-game road set. La Crosse will then host the Madison Mallards on Saturday, June 2 at 6:05 p.m. for its 2012 home opener. Season tickets and packages are available now at the Loggers ticket office and single game tickets will go on sale to the public on Thursday, April 5.
