WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. (May 10, 2012) — Another milestone in the history of the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters is set to take place during one of the first few games this summer when the team welcomes the 100,000th fan through the Witter Field gates.  The total attendance through the first two seasons currently stands at 94,521, only 5,479 fans away from reaching the 100,000 plateau.  The team drew an average of 1,412 fans per game last season.

The Rafters will be tied with the Madison Mallards as the third fastest team to reach 100,000 fans in Northwoods League history.  What makes this feat even more impressive is the fact that the Rafters are currently in the second-smallest market in the entire 16-team Northwoods League.

To commemorate this historic milestone, the team has made plans to honor the lucky fan that helps push the attendance into six-digits in a variety of different ways.  The fan helping achieve the milestone  will be honored that night by throwing out the First Pitch prior to the Rafters game, will receive four free tickets to a future game, as well as a Rafters goodie bag.  That’s not all!  During the 2013 season, the Rafters will have a bobblehead giveaway featuring the 100,000th fan!
