ROCHESTER, Minn. (July 18, 2012) – Weather affected games all around the league on Wednesday as two games were called early and the game in Rochester started nearly two hours late. 

Mankato 7, Rochester 10

Dakota Smith (Kansas) was 3-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored as the Honkers prevailed over the MoonDogs. The Honkers will host the MoonDogs again on Thursday for a 7:05 p.m. start. 

St. Cloud 7, Waterloo 6

Boo Vazquez (Pittsburgh) drove in Adam Martin (Western Carolina) in the top of the ninth inning to give the Rox the eventual game-winning run. The Bucks will host the Rox again on Thursday at 6:35 p.m.  

Thunder Bay 4, Duluth 8

James Ramsay (South Florida) was 2-for-4 with two RBI to help the Duluth Huskies stay on top in the North Division. The Huskies will host the Border Cats again on Thursday at 7:05 p.m.

Willmar 7, Alexandria 9

Matt Beaty (Belmont) went 2-for-4 at the plate with two RBI and two runs scored for the Beetles. This series will shift to Willmar on Thursday for a 7:05 p.m. start. 

Madison 0, Wisconsin 2 (5 innings)

This game was called after four and half innings of play due to weather conditions. Brendan Hayden (Virginia Tech) picked up the first and only necessary RBI on the night to keep the Woodchucks’ win streak alive. The series will shift to Madison on Thursday for a 7:05 p.m. start. 

Wisconsin Rapids 1, Green Bay 5

Harry Stanwyck (UC-Davis) threw eight innings and allowed just one earned run on six hits while striking out six batters. This series will shift to Wisconsin Rapids on Thursday for a first pitch at 7:05 p.m.

La Crosse 5, Eau Claire 4

Brandon Bednar (Florida Gulf Goast) hit a go-ahead RBI single in the top of the 11th inning to give the Loggers the eventual win. This series will shift to La Crosse for a 7:05 p.m. start on Thursday. 

Battle Creek 2, Lakeshore 1 (7 innings)

 

Conor Costello (Arkansas) was 2-for-3 at the plate with an RBI as the Bombers won 2-1 in a game that would end after six and half innings due to weather. The Chinooks will host the Bombers again on Thursday at 6:35 p.m.
