Saturday's Pitcher of the Night is Kalamazoo's Ryan Smoyer, a right-hander from Notre Dame. Smoyer pitched into the eighth for the Growlers, who blanked Battle Creek, 3-0.
Smoyer tied for his second longest start of the season as he threw seven and a third scoreless innings with four strikeouts. He walked just one and allowed just three hits. His sixth win of the season put him at a perfect 6-0 on the season with a 2.28 ERA over 10 appearances and seven starts.
