The Kalamazoo Growlers improved their record to 2-3 in the 2016 season with a 9-0 victory over the Battle Creek Bombers on Saturday night. Kalamazoo right-handed starter BJ Butler (Ball State) threw the first complete game of the season to earn the Northwoods League Pitcher of the Night. Butler went a full nine innings and allowed six hits and no walks with eight strikeouts for the shutout win over Battle Creek.

The Growlers will conclude their four-game series with Battle Creek on Sunday at 1:05 p.m. at C.O. Brown Stadium.
