The St. Cloud Rox improved their record to 12-6 with their victory over Duluth in an offensive battle to extend their winning streak to five, which is the longest current streak in the Northwoods League. Madison had a walk-off victory over Green Bay in the bottom of the ninth. Battle Creek had a big game offensively as well as on the mound in a 7-0 shutout of Rockford in a Saturday night that featured a full slate of games with no issues with the weather.

Battle Creek 7, Rockford 0

Jordan Horak (Portland) had a big night for the Battle Creek Bombers on the mound and shut down the Rockford Rivets in a 7-0 victory on Saturday night. Hordan has gotten better in each of his first four starts of the season, and he threw seven scoreless innings on four hits and a walk with seven strikeouts. Horak improved to 3-1 on the year and has not allowed a run in each of his last two starts to lower his earned run average to 1.56. Bombers' third baseman Jarrod Watkins (Central Michigan) hit 3-for-5 with two runs scored. Both teams currently hold 10-9 overall records on the season.

Wisconsin Rapids 6, Kalamazoo 3

The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters held a 6-0 advantage and held on to defeat the Kalamazoo Growlers 6-3. Rafters' Joey Morgan (Washington) began the scoring with his first home run of the season on a two-run shot in the top of the first inning to take an early lead. Wisconsin Rapids added another in the third, and Ben Fisher (Eastern Kentucky) cranked a three-run homer in the top of the sixth to give the Rafters a 6-0 advantage. The Growlers scored twice in the eighth and another in the ninth but not enough for the comeback. Wisconsin Rapids' starter Calvin Giese (St. Cloud State) earned the win in five shutout innings on one hit and three walks with a pair of strikeouts.

La Crosse 4, Kenosha 3

The La Crosse Loggers outlasted the Kenosha Kingfish in a back-and-forth game 4-3 on Saturday night. Kenosha scored first with a solo home run from Gunnar McNeil (Kentucky) in the top of the second inning, but La Crosse took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the third with a single hit by Lorenzo Hampton Jr. (California). The Kingfish grabbed the lead right back with two in the top of the fifth, but the Loggers answered witha run in the bottom half of the inning to tie the game at 3. La Crosse centerfielder Garrett Zech (South Florida) homered to begin the seventh, which proved to to be the game-winning run.

Wisconsin 1, Lakeshore 0

In the ultimate pitcher's duel score, the Wisconsin Woodchucks outlasted the Lakeshore Chinooks 1-0. The lone run of the game came from a Ruben Cardenas (Cal State Fullerton) double that scored Connor Heady (University of Kentucky) in the top of the fifth inning. That was enough for the Woodchucks, who improved to 9-8 with the victory. Wisconsin starter Scott Parker (University of San Francisco) threw eight scoreless innings on five hits and one walk with one strikeout. Gordon Cardenas (Auburn University) came on in the ninth and recorded his third save of the season.

Madison 4, Green Bay 3

The Madison Mallards defeated the Green Bay Bullfrogs 4-3 in a walk off on Saturday night. With one out and a runner at third base, Joe Stefanki (San Jose State) doubled to score Nate Palace (Valparaiso) from third for the victory over the Bullfrogs. Madison scored first with a run in the bottom of the fourth, but the Bullfrogs got a three-run homer from Quincy Nieporte (Florida State) in the sixth to put Green Bay ahead. Madison scored a run in the sixth and another in the seventh with a home run from Sefanki to tie the game, which set up his game-winning hit in the ninth.

Mankato 7, Eau Claire 3

The Eau Claire Express came out of the gate with a pair of runs but the Mankato MoonDogs scored consecutive runs for the 7-3 victory to snap the Express' winning streak. Eau Claire scored two in the bottom of the first inning, and Mankato scored a run in the third, two in the fifth, one in the sixth and added three in the seventh to take a 7-2 advantage. Nate Jones (Northwestern State) picked up the win for MoonDogs with six innings of work and allowed two runs on three hits and two walks with five strikeouts. He improved to 3-0 on the season in his fourth start, and Mankato improved to 11-7 on the year.

St. Cloud 15, Duluth 12

The St. Cloud Rox took down the Duluth Huskies 15-12 in a slugfest that featured 27 runs on 29 hits combined on Saturday night. The Huskies put together a seven-run third inning, but St. Cloud scored in every inning except the eighth to pick up the win. St. Cloud leftfielder Mason Mamarella (Kent State University) hit 3-for-5 with a walk, three RBI and two runs scored for the Rox. Third baseman Brandon Benson (Georgia College) also had a good night at the plate, as he finished 3-for-5 with three runs batted in for St. Cloud, who improved to 12-6.

Willmar 8, Rochester 3

The Willmar Stingers' bats came out hot early, as they defeated the Rochester Honkers 8-3. The Stingers scored three runs in the top of the first inning and two more in the second with a two-run shot from Greg Lambert (Southern Illinois) that put Willmar ahead 5-1 early, and the Honkers were never able to come back from the deficit. Stingers' leadoff hitter Danny Pardo (Montevallo) hit 3-for-4 with two walks, two runs scored and a RBI. Ty Tice (Central Arkansas) threw five innings and allowed three runs on six hits and two walks with six strikeouts in the win for Willmar.

Waterloo 15, Thunder Bay 9

The Waterloo Bucks got the best of the Thunder Bay Border Cats on Saturday night with a 15-9 victory. The Bucks and Border Cats were tied at 9 after 6 1/2 innings of play, but Waterloo erupted for five runs in the bottom of the sixth aided by five consecutive walks and six total walks in the inning. Waterloo's Tyler Curtis (Lynn University) hit 3-for-5 with a walk, four runs scored and two runs batted in. Taylor Boyd (St. Josephs) finished 3-for-3 with two walks, three RBI and a run scored for the Bucks, who improved to 13-5 on the season for first place in the North Division.
