The Willmar Stingers threw a combined one-hitter in a 6-0 victory over the Rockford Rivets on the road Sunday. Willmar's starting pitcher Pearson McMahan (St. Johns River State) threw eight scoreless innings and allowed one hit and nine walks with six strikeouts to pick up the win and be named the Northwoods League Pitcher of the Night.
Willmar will play the Madison Mallards on the road on Monday night at 7:05.
