Cooper Cain (Valdosta State) earned pitcher of the night for pitching very well while the Rivets had the lead, but didn’t quite earn the win. He only faced one over the minimum until two outs in the fourth. After putting two guys on, Cain got the next guy to ground out. Cain then retired the final 10 batters to end his outing. Rockford allowed eight in the final two innings, but Cain allowed nothing on two hits and one walk while striking out seven.
