Sam Hubbe (Butler) earned pitcher of the night after throwing eight strong for the Spiders in their win over Kalamazoo. He gave up just one run that came in the opening inning. He faced the minimum until two outs in the fourth, gave up an error, but got the next guy to bounce into a fielder’s choice. Hubbe didn’t face more than four in an inning, fished the night with just one run on five hits and one walk while striking out seven.
