Madison got the party started on opening night with an 11 run outburst while the Willmar Stingers used solid pitching to shut out the MoonDogs. The defending Summer Collegiate World Series Champion Dock Spiders held off the Growlers and the Wisconsin Woodchucks doubled up the Kingfish.

Kokomo Jackrabbits 1 ,Madison Mallards 11

The Madison Mallards picked up a decisive 11-1 victory over the Kokomo Jackrabbits. The Madison Mallards blew open the game in the bottom of the 5th with a 5 run out burst. The Mallards got home runs from E.J Ranel (Lenoir-Rhyne) and Ryne Stanley (NC AT) . The Jackrabbitts lone run came from Logan Jarvis (Belmont) during the top of the third inning. Dylan Miley (Bellarmine University) pitched 3 innings to pick up the win for Madison. While Caleb Reinhardt (Evansville) was on the loosing end for the Kokomo Jackrabbits. 

Wisconsin Woodchucks 10,Kenosha Kingfish 5 

The final score of the Wisconsin Woodchucks versus the Kenosha Kingfish was 10-5. The Woodchucks secured their 10-5 victory over the Kingfish with 5 runs in the top of the 9th inning. Wisconsin’s Nate Stinson (Lincoln Memorial University) drove in 2 runs with a single in the top of the 9th. Stinson also ended with 3 hits and scored 3 runs at the end of the opening season night. In the top of the 6th Kaeber Rog (FIU) hit a triple and drove in 1 run. Maddux Solomon (Seminole State College) was the Woodchucks winning pitcher. While Kieth Kutzler (Wisconsin- Whitewater) was the the losing pitcher for the Kenosha Kingfish. 

Wisconsin Rapids Rafters, Rockford Rivets 

Tonight’s game in Rockford between the Rivets and the Rafters has been suspended in the 2nd inning. The game will be completed to nine innings tomorrow, May 29, starting at 4:35. The regularly scheduled game will take place 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first game and will be seven innings.

La Crosse Loggers 3 ,Waterloo Bucks 7

The Waterloo Bucks beat the La Crosse Loggers 7-3. The Bucks took the lead for good in the bottom of the third scoring 3 runs. Waterloo’s Sam Olson (Heartland CC) punched in 2 runs with his 2 out double. Olson finished the night was 3 hits and 2 RBIs for the Bucks. The winning pitcher for the Waterloo Bucks was Austin VanDeWiele (North Iowa Area CC) and Zach Jones (Spalding) with the save striking out 8 of the Loggers. While Dylan Gibeau (Young Harris) was the losing pitcher of the night for the La Crosse Loggers. 

St. Cloud Rox 5 ,Rochester Honkers 7

Tonight’s game ended with the Rochester Honkers overcoming the St.Cloud Rox with a final score 7-5. The St. Cloud Rox broke the tie during the bottom of the 8th inning. Marty Tolson Jr. (Eastern Maryland Shore) winning pitcher for the Rochester Honkers pitched 2 innings while striking out 6 out of the 7 batters he faced. While Joey Stock was saddled with the lose for the St. Cloud Rox. 

Fond Du Lac Dock Spiders 5 ,Kalamazoo Growlers 4 

The Fond Du Lack Dock Spiders had a close game against the Kalamazoo Growlers winning with a final score 5-4. The Fond Du Lack Dock Spiders was powered by Andrew Bullock (Western California) he went 3/6, scored 2 runs, and picked up 2 RBI’s. Fond Du Lac’s Joel Brewer (University of South Carolina) had a 2 run home run the bottom of the seventh inning. The winning pitcher for the Dock Spiders was Jonathan Cowles (Colorado Springs), he pitched seven innings, gave up five hits, and six strike outs. Nathan Thomas ( Northern Illinois) came on to get the save for the Fond Du Lacs.  David Toth (Hillsdale College) was the loosing pitcher for Kalamazoo. 

Lakeshore Chinooks 8,Battle Creek Bombers 3

The Lakeshore Chinooks took control of the game starting at the second inning, ending with a final score of 8-3against the Battle Creek Bombers. Jake Thompson (Kentucky) and S Pinales (Wabash Valley College) drove 2 RBI’s and had 2 runs during the season opener.The winning pitcher for the Chinooks was Duncan Davitt (Iowa), pitching for 2 innings and striking out 3 Battle Creek Bombers. While the loosing pitcher for the Bombers was Josh Hranicky (Lamar). 

Green Bay Booyah 1 ,Traverse City Pit Spitters 2

In the opening game of the Northwoods season, the Traverse City Spitters were a 2-1 winner over the Green Bay Booyah. Traverse City scored all their runs in the bottom of the 1st with singles by CF Jake Wilson (Bowling Green State University) and 2B Mario Camilletti (Oakland University) and RBI’s by C Adam Proctor (Michigan State ) and Camilletti.  Green Bay scored their lone run on a sacrifice fly by 3B Jacob Buchberger bringing in 2B Justin Greene (Louisiana Lafayette), who had singled to lead off the inning.  Traverse City got 5 strong innings on the mound and the win from Chase Wheatcroft (CSU-Stanislaus) (5 SO).  Jon Beuchelaere (Davenport) picked up the save in relief for the Spitters. Green Bay’s Nick Riggle took the loss in 5 innings of work. 

Willmar Stingers 7 ,Mankato MoonDogs 0

The Willmar Stingers soundly defeated the Mankato MoonDogs 7-0 in opening day action. Garrett Rukes (Alabama) and Bryant Claunch (North Alabama) combined for the 5 hit shut out. Rukes was the winning pitcher, while Claunch picked up the save. Willmar had a balanced attack from their line up tonight with Justin King (Alabama) and Dylan Criquet-Danielson (North Iowa Area CC) with two hits each. Ben Rowdon (Gardner-Webb) led the MoonDogs by going 2/4. 

Duluth Huskies 8 ,Thunder Bay Border Cats 7

Duluth Huskies come together in the 9th inning for the win scoring 5 runs against the Thunder Bay Border Cats with a score of 8-7. In the top of the 9th, Carter Putz ( Notre Dame) drove in 2 runs and scored on Preston Hartsell’s (USC) 1 out-double. Dani Zimmerman (Michigan) finish the scoring by driving in Hartsell with a 2 base RBI. Thunder Bay had a strong 5th inning scoring 6 runs on 3 hits with RBI hits from Jake Engel ( ), Bryce Jorgenson ( ), Nate Soriano ( ). The winning pitcher for Duluth was Logan VanWey (Missouri Southern State) while the loosing pitcher for the Thunder Bay Border Cats was Staley Hansgen (Colorado Northwestern CC). 

Eau Claire Express 2 ,Bismarck Larks 15

The Bismarck Larks started off strong scoring 4 runs in the first 2 innings and never looked back. They finished off the Express with scoring 10 runs in the bottom of the 8th. The final score was 15-2, with the Bismarck Larks taking the win. Brody Tanksley (Indiana University-Southeast) and Wyatt Ulrich (St. Johns) both had 3 RBI’s each. W. Ulrich also scored three runs along with Jack Chernow (Columbia). Eric Hildebrand (Jackson College) was the winning pitcher for the Bismarck Larks striking out 2 and getting the win for the Larks. While Tim Ewald (Dallas Baptist) pitched 1 inning and got the lose for the Eau Claire.
