If you like high scoring games, you were happy with the results of Sunday’s action, though if you prefer a low-scoring pitcher’s duel there was plenty of that for you to enjoy as another night of games is in the books.

North Dakota Pod
Mandan Flickertails 10 Bismarck Bull Moose 2
The Flickertails blew the game wide open in the sixth, when they scored four runs before adding five more in the seventh to cruise to a 10-2 win. Ben Rushing (Central Florida) led the Mandan offense, going 2-4 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored. Collin Hopkins (Indiana) was 1-3 with a double, but contributed three RBI. Clark Candiotti (Saint Mary’s College) pitched an absolute gem, throwing six innings, allowing one earned run on four hits while recording 11 strikeouts, a new season high for him.

Michigan Pod
Kalamazoo Mac Daddies 3 Battle Creek Bombers 2
It was a close one on Saturday afternoon, as the Mac Daddies took an early lead, only to see the Bombers tie the game in the seventh. Kalamazoo was able to scratch across the winning run in the top of the eighth and held on for a narrow win. Connor McGuire (California-Irvine) led the Mac Daddies offense, going 2-3 with an RBI. Luke Ard (Valdosta State) and Chase Coselman (Kalamazoo College) also picked up RBIs for Kalamazoo. On the mound, Miguel Reyes Jr. (New Mexico) got the start and threw three shutout innings, allowing just one hit while striking out six batters. Ian Leatherman (Central Michigan) would go on to pick up the win, throwing two and one-third of an inning, with no runs or hits and two strikeouts.

Wisconsin/Illinois Pod
Fond du Lac Dock Spiders 10 Green Bay Booyah 4
The Dock Spiders took advantage of a five-run third inning to slide past the Booyah on Sunday afternoon. Andrew Bullock (Charleston Southern) led the Fond du Lac offense, going 3-5 at the plate with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI. Tate Kolwyck (Vanderbilt) drove in three runs, while John Rhodes (Kentucky) was 2-4 with two RBI. Trace Hoffman (Iowa) picked up the win, throwing two relief innings, allowing one rin and four hits.

Wisconsin Rapids Rafters 6 La Crosse Loggers 2
The Loggers and Rafters were tied at two in the bottom of the sixth when the Rafters scored four runs to break the game wide open. Christian Sepulveda (Texas-Rio Grande Valley) came on as a pinch hitter, and was 1-1 with a run scored and two RBI. Brandon Siegenthaler (Villanova) picked up the win for the Rafters, throwing four innings, allowing two runs on two hits while striking out three batters. Ricky Castro (Purdue) came on and finished the game, throwing two perfect innings, recording two strikeouts.

Rockford Rivets 12, Wisconsin Woodchucks 6
A six-run fourth inning was all that the Rivets needed on Sunday afternoon, as they doubled up the Woodchucks in front of 423 fans. Drew Grace (Kentucky) finished the day going 2-4 at the plate with a run scored and two RBI. Ryan Hampe (Illinois) was 1-2 with two RBI, but he also drew four walks. Connor Manthey (Bradley) was 0-2 officially, but drew three walks and had a pair of RBI. Zach Losey (Ball State) picked up the win, throwing three and one-third of an inningm allowing one run while recording a pair of strikeouts.

Minnesota Pod
Waterloo Bucks 5, Mankato Moondogs 2
The Bucks picked up a road win Sunday evening, as they outlasted the Moondogs to pick up a 5-2 win. Patrick Ferguson (Gardner-Webb) went 1-3 for the Bucks, but the one hit was a solo shot in the seventh inning to give the Bucks an extra insurance run. Blake Corsentino (Santa Barbra City College) got the start for Waterloo, and threw four strong innings, allowing one run on three hits while recording three strikeouts. Christian McGowan (Eastern State) picked up the win after throwing three scoreless relief innings, with three hits and two strikeouts.

Willmar Stingers 10, Rochester Honkers 4
The Stingers picked up their fourth win of the season on Sunday night, as they topped the Honkers thanks to a monster performance from Kyle Manzardo (Washington State) who was 2-5 on the night with a double, a grand slam and five RBI. He also scored a pair of runs for Willmar. Griffin Cheney (Georgia State) had a large conntribution as well, as he drove in two runs and scored three. Kyle Scott (Cal Poly) picked up the win after throwing two scoreless innings in relief, allowing one run and recording three strikeouts. THe Rochester offense wasn’t completely silent, as Tanner Tweedt (Sacramento City College) and Taison Coris (Cal Poly) both jacked home runs, but they weren’t enough to pick up the win.
