Growlers and Mac Daddies split doubleheader; Resorters slip past Pit Spitters
We are starting to come to the final weeks of the 2020 Northwoods League season, which means less games being played each night. There were only three games on Sunday, with the Resorters narrowly getting past the Pit Spitters, while the Growlers and Mac Daddies split a doubleheader in Kalamazoo.
Great Lakes Resorters 5 Traverse City Pit Spitters 4
The Resorters scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth to beat the Pit Spitters Sunday afternoon. Roman Kuntz (Lake Michigan College) picked up the game-winning RBIs, hitting a two-run home run in the sixth that put the Resorters past the Spitters. Kuntz ended up being the offensive leader for Great Lakes, going 1-3 with his two RBI. Isaiah Lindsey (Lake Michigan College) got the start for the Resorters and threw four innings, allowing one unearned run on two hits with a pair of strikeouts. Jonathan Russomano (Corban University) threw two innings, allowing a run on three hits to pick up the win, his first of the season.
