Hayden Berg (Western Michigan) saved the best for last this season, throwing six strong innings in the Michigan Pod championship game to lead the Mac Daddies to a 4-1 win.
Berg allowed one run on one hit, with nine strikeouts. This was the second time this season that he has recorded nine strikeouts, and was the longest outing of the season. In 21.2 innings pitched this summer, he had an ERA of 2.08, allowing five earned runs on nine hits with 30 strikeouts.
