In many offensive battle wins tonight, five teams manage to keep their win streaks alive. The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters now lead the league with 14 wins and Wausau Woodchucks continue to work their way back into the win column with a rallied win over the Green Bay Rockers. The La Crosse Loggers kept their bats hot, scoring 18 runs for tonight’s win.

Kokomo Jackrabbits 6, Kalamazoo Growlers 3

The Kokomo Jackrabbits defeated the Kalamazoo Growlers 6-3. Carlos Hidalgo (St. John’s University) led his team with three hits including two doubles and a single. Jon Jon (Chabot College) also had three hits with an RBI single in the top of the seventh inning. Garrett Bell (Ithaca College) was able to hold the Growlers throwing a scoreless six innings giving up only three hits.

Wisconsin Rapids Rafters 17, Fond du Lac Dock Spiders 2

The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters continue their win streak defeating the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders 17-2. Garrett Broussard (Utah Valley University) led his team with five hits including three doubles, two singles and two RBI. Many other players had multi-hit games including Brendan Bobo (California State University, Fullerton) who had three hits with a home run and five RBI. The Rafters had seven doubles and three home runs as a team tonight.

Eau Claire Express 7, Bismarck Larks 6

The Eau Claire Express rallied back to take the first win against the Bismarck Larks 7-6. Tied going into the bottom of the ninth Reed Latimer (University of Montevallo) started the inning off with a double to center field. After bases were loaded Tanner Marsh (University of St. Thomas) advanced to first on a walk bringing in the final run of the game. Max Coupe (Skyline College) was the only player with a multi-hit game tonight with two singles.

Battle Creek Battle Jacks 15, Rockford Rivets 9

In a tremendous offensive effort the Battle Creek Battle Jack took the win against the Rockford Rivets 15-9. Jace Matkin (Madonna University) earned Northwoods League Player of the Night with 4 hits including a home run and a grand slam in the fourth inning. Billy Hancock (Mount Marty College) had three hits with a double, two singles and one RBI. Nathan Ross (Kellogg Community College) had the win on the mound throwing five innings with five strikeouts.

Wausau Woodchucks 2, Green Bay Rockers 1

The Wausau Woodchucks rallied to defeat the Green Bay Rockers 2-1. Behind by one run going into the bottom of the seventh inning Mcgwire Holbrook (West Virginia University) drove in the first run on a sac fly and Brent Widder (University of Evansville) followed it up with a fielder’s choice scoring the second run to take the lead. Ryan Eiermann (Southeastern University) started the game throwing five innings with seven strikeouts and allowed only one run to score.

Kenosha Kingfish 9, Traverse City Pit Spitters 7

The Kenosha Kingfish received an at home win taking down the Traverse City Pit Spitters 9-7. Jacob Tobias (Arizona State University) had the most hits on the team with two singles, a home run and three RBI. Drake Westcott (University of Louisville) had a single and a double to score one run. James Mccoy (University of Kentucky) had the only triple on the night with one walk scoring each time he reached base.

Lakeshore Chinooks 16, Madison Mallards 14

In an offensive battle the Lakeshore Chinooks won the first game of the series against the Madison Mallards 16-14. Garrett Martin (Oklahoma State University) went 3 for 4 with two singles, a home run and five RBI to lead his team. Stephen Hrustich (Northwestern University) had two hits including a 3 run home run in the first inning to give the Chinooks the lead.

La Crosse Loggers 18, Waterloo Bucks 4

The La Crosse Loggers defeated the Waterloo Bucks 18-4 for their at home victory. The Loggers generated nine runs in the second inning with a home run by Coby Morales (University of Washington) and a double by Mac Danford (Enterprise State Community College). The team scored six more runs in the eighth inning with home runs by Landon Wallace (University of Nevada, Reno) and Emilio Corona (Pima Community College).

Willmar Stingers 7, Rochester Honkers 4

The Willmar Stingers took down the Rochester Honkers 7-4. The Stingers struck first, scoring four runs in the first innings. Brett Bateman (University of Minnesota) started the game with a single and scored on another single by Joey Walls (University of Nevada, Las Vegas). Walls went 3 for 5 with a double and one RBI. Bateman later had another single to advance to first. Reed Smith (Louisiana Tech University) was the starting pitcher throwing seven innings and allowed only three runs to score.

Duluth Huskies 5, Mankato MoonDogs 4

In a 10 inning battle the Duluth Huskies defeated the Mankato MoonDogs 5-4. Heading into the bottom of the 10th the Huskies were able to get a free runner on base with JD Rogers (Vanderbilt University) up to bat. Rogers drove a hit past second base to tie the game. Eduardo Rosario (University Nebraska Omaha) ended the game with bases loaded driving a ball to the shortstop who made a throwing error to first bringing in the final run to score.
