In tonight’s double headers six teams swept their series as they had two victories on the day. Branden Comia from the Fond du Lac Spiders earned Northwoods League Player of the Night altering being the first player of the league this year to hit for the cycle. Comia was a key factor in the Spiders success today as his team scored 25 runs on the day. The Stingers also continue their success as they won their seventh game in a row tonight. 

Green Bay Rockers 9, Lakeshore Chinooks 6

The Green Bay Rockers won the first game of the night against the Lakeshore Chinooks 9-6. The Rockers struck first, scoring four runs in the third innings with an RBI single by Tristin Garcia (Western Kentucky) and Luke Ballweg (Augustana University). Garcia led the team with three hits including a home run, walk and five RBI. Carson Yates (UCLA) reached base twice and scored once. Jacob Young (Fairmont State University) came into the game in the fifth inning to throw the next 3.1 innings with four strikeouts earning the win on the mound. The Rockers generated nine hits with eight walks to take the win.

Fond du Lac Dock Spiders 14, Madison Mallards 6

The Fond du lac Dock Spiders defeated the Madison Mallards 14-6 for the first game of the double header. The Spiders scored nine runs in the bottom of the first innings with a grand slam by Branden Comia (University of Illinois). Comia had a great night at the plate hitting for the cycle with five RBI. Cole Messina (University of South Carolina) also had a home run in the same inning to score three runs. Messina went two for four with a double and three RBI. Logan Tabeling (University of Illinois) was the starting pitcher throwing 4.2 innings with six strikeouts. The Spiders had 14 hits with zero errors on the field.

Wisconsin Rapids Rafters 10, Wausau Woodchucks 4

The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters continue their success to win the first game of the series against the Wausau Woodchucks 10-4. The Rafters scored four runs in the sixth with a home run by Nate Nankil (California State University, Fullerton) and an RBI on an error by Brendan Bobo (California State University, Fullerton). Nankil had three hits with three RBI and one stolen base. Aidan Brewer (Hillsdale College) also had three hits with a stolen base to contribute to the offense. Mckinley Erves (LaGrange College) reached base five times with two hits, two walks and a hit by pitch. Grant Manning (Chapman University) earned the win on the mound throwing five scoreless innings with three strikeouts.

Eau Claire Express 12, Duluth Huskies 4 

With an explosive offense the Eau Claire Express generated 17 hits to defeat the Duluth Huskies 12-4. Jake Sapien (Stanford University) led the team with five hits including a double and five RBI. Trevor Haskins (Stanford University) reached base six times with three hits, two walks, and a hit by pitch scoring three times. JJ Pease (University of Montevallo) was the starting pitcher throwing five innings with four strikeouts earning the win on the mound. Hunter Rosenbaum (University of Texas Rio Grande Valley) came into the game in the sixth inning to throw the next two innings with three strikeouts giving up no hits.

Willmar Stingers 1, La Crosse Loggers 0

With a pitchers duel, the Willmar Stingers took down the La Crosse Loggers 1-0. Jack Zigan (Minnesota State University, Mankato) had an outstanding night on the mound throwing 7.1 innings with seven strikeouts giving up four hits and allowing zero runs to score. Zac Corbin (Kennesaw State University) drove in the only run for his team in the bottom of the third inning with a single to right field. Corbin had two hits to reach base. Joey Walls (California State University, Long Beach) had the only other hits of the night with a double to center field.

St.Cloud Rox 9, Rochester Honkers 5

The St.Cloud Rox rallied back to take the first game against the Rochester Honkers 9-5. The Rox scored five runs in the sixth inning to take the lead with two back to back singles by John Nett (St. Cloud State University) and Ike Mezzenga (North Iowa Area Community College) to start off the inning. Ethan Mann (Dallas Baptist) drove both of them in with a double to left field. O’Neil Burgos (Southern University and A&M College) ended the inning with a home run. Mezzenga had three hits with a double, home run and two RBI. Burgos reached base four times with three walks and one hit. Carson Keithley (Texas State University) started the game throwing five innings with four strikeouts.

Kalamazoo Growlers 5, Kokomo Jackrabbits 2

The Kalamazoo Growlers defeated the Kokomo Jackrabbits 5-2 for their first game of the series. Anthony Stephan (University of Virginia) led the team going four for four with a double and a walk. Alex Calarco (Northwestern University) also had a multi hit game going  three for four with a double, RBI and a walk. Dylan Freeman (University of Montevallo) was the starting pitcher to earn the win on the mound throwing six innings with five strikeouts giving up three hits. The Growlers generated 10 hits with seven walks to take their first victory of the night.

Battle Creek Battle Jacks 9, Rockford Rivets 4

The Battle Creek Battle Jacks struck first to take down the Rockford Rivets 9-4. The Battle Jacks scored four runs in the bottom of the first inning with an RBI single by Jace Matkin (Madonna University) and Trevor Patterson (Indiana Tech). Matkin reached base four times with three walks, one hit and two RBI. Garrett Martin (Middle Georgia State University) started the game throwing seven innings giving up five hits with three strikeouts to earn the win on the mound. The Battle Jacks had nine hits to earn their first victory of the night. 

Traverse City Pit Spitters 6, Kenosha Kingfish 5

The Traverse City Pit Spitters scored their fourth win in a row as they defeated the Kokomo Jackrabbits 6-5. The Pit Spitters scored four runs in the seventh inning to take the lead. Evan Orzech (Saint Xavier University) and Brennen Dorighi (University of Iowa) both led their team with two hits and a double each. Trey Truitt III (North Carolina State University) and Michael Tchavdarov (Davenport University) also had two hits each with an RBI. Adam Christopher (Loyola Marymount University) threw the first four innings with seven strikeouts. Easton Johnson (Creighton University) earned the win on the mound throwing three innings with two strikeouts and did not allow a run to score. 

Wisconsin Rapids Rafters 12, Wausau Woodchucks 6

The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters swept their double header as they defeated the Wausau Woodchucks 12-6. The Rafters rallied back to score five runs in the four inning with a home run by Brendan Bobo (California State University, Fullerton). Bobo led the team with two home runs, five RBI and a walk. Garrett Broussard (Utah Valley University) contributed to the offense with three hits including a double and three RBI. Brady Jurgella (Minnesota) reached base five times with a double, three walks and drove in three runs. Cael Chatham (High Point University) was the closing pitcher throwing the last inning giving up no hits. 

Bismarck Larks 14, Waterloo Bucks 3

The Bismarck Larks take the first game of the series against the Waterloo Bucks 14-3. Adam Axtell (Point Loma Nazarene University) was the offensive leader going three for four at the plate with a double, four RBI and two walks. Spencer Sarringar (Northern State University) also had three hits with a triple, RBI and a stolen base. The Larks drove in seven runs in the seventh inning with Aaron Mann (Drury University) driving in three of those runs. Carter Rost (Wichita State University) had a terrific night on the mound throwing seven innings with 11 strikeouts. Chris Hernandez  (California State University, San Bernardino) closed the game throwing the last inning giving up no hits. 

Green Bay Rockers 6, Lakeshore Chinooks 5

The Green Bay Rockers continued their success sweeping the series against the Lakeshore Chinooks 6-5. Kyle Stoddard (Lindenwood University) earned the win on the mound throwing three innings with five strikeouts giving up only one hit. Tristin Garcia (Western Kentucky) and Carson Yates (UCLA) both had two hits with a double each with three RBI by Garcia. Brett Blair (Stanford University) went three for five scoring once as he reached base. Luke Ballweg (Augustana University)  reached base five times with four walks and a hit. The Rockers had 10 hits and 10 hits to end the series. 

Fond du Lac Dock Spiders 11, Madison Mallards 0

With an offensive surge the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders took their second win of the day against the Madison Mallards 11-0. Nolan Tichy (University of Massachusetts) led the team with three hits including a double, home run, two RBI and a walk. Daylen Reyes (University of California, Los Angeles) drove in the first run of the game with a triple to right field. Reyes had three RBI with one walk and two hit by pitches on the night. Alberto Rios (Stanford) followed up Reyes’ hit with a single to score another run. The Spiders had a solid game with six hits and zero errors on the field. 

Eau Claire Express 9, Duluth Huskies 5

The Eau Claire Express won their second game of the night against the Duluth Huskies 9-5. The Express struck first with an RBI single by Charlie Szykowny (University of Wisconsin – Stout). Szykowny went four for five with one RBI on the night. Cadyn Schwabe (North Dakota State University) contributed to the offense with two hits, three RBI and a stolen base. Will Rizzo (Texas A&M University) had a great night on the mound throwing five innings with nine strikeouts giving up three hits. The pitching staff had 13 hits to keep the Huskies from scoring. 

Willmar Stingers 5, La Crosse Loggers 4

The Willmar Stingers swept the series as they defeated the La Crosse Loggers 5-4. The Stingers rallied back to take the lead in the seventh inning. Aidan Byrne (Minnesota State University, Mankato) led the offense with a home run, two RBI and a walk. Christian Dicochea (University of Washington) and Jakob Christian (Point Loma Nazarene University) both had a double with an RBI by Christian. Dylan Matela (Georgia State University) started the game throwing five innings with seven strikeouts. John Klein (Minnesota State University, Mankato) closed the game throwing the last four innings with eight strikeouts giving up two hits. The pitching staff had 15 strikeouts to lead the Stingers to a win. 

Rochester Honkers 8, St.Cloud Rox 6

The Rochester Honkers won their second game of the night to sweep the series against the St.Cloud Rox 8-6. The Honkers scored four runs in the top of the first inning with a single by Tyler White (California State University, Long Beach) scoring on a double by Nico Regino (Charleston Southern University). White had two hits with a walk, scoring twice as he reached base. Dario Gomez (University of Nevada, Reno) had a hit with a walk and scored once with a stolen base. Thaniel Trumper (Doane College) closed the game throwing the last inning with three strikeouts.
