The Kokomo Jackrabbits defeat the Battle Creek Battle Jacks 2-1 after losing their first game against them Monday night. The Traverse City Pit Spitters are the first team of the 2023 season with a 2-0 record start while 5 other teams start the season with a 2-0 record to conclude the evening.

Kokomo Jackrabbits even their record (1-1) between the Battle Jacks in their second match up earlier this morning.

Brett Stanley (Kellogg Community College) scored the games only run after reaching base on an error in the second inning. The Battle Jacks starting pitcher threw 2 innings, gave up 3 hits, 1 walk, and struck out 3 batters.

Kolbe Aven (Nova Southeastern University) and Tyler Cate (University of Sioux Falls) each contributed an RBI on the day to help capture the JackRabbits first win on the season. Isaac Bonner (University of Sioux Falls) went 2-for-4 with 1 run scored.

Starting pitcher for the Jackrabbits, Cade Waits (Drury University) gets the win after throwing 5 innings and giving up 3 hits, 3 walks, and struck out 7 batters.

Lakeshore Chinooks 2, Wisconsin Rapids Rafters 3

The Rafters even their record (1-1) between the Chinooks after losing their first game 10-6 Monday night. Brandon Rogers (Iowa Western Community College) led the Rafters off with a solo home run on a 1-0 count in the first inning. Infielders, Ty Johnson (McClennan Community) and Jack Basseer (Pepperdine University), went 2-for-4 on the evening while Shane Taylor went (Utah Tech University) 2-for-3 with one RBI on the evening for the Rafters.

The Chinooks became a threat in the ninth – scoring  2 runs after a hit by pitch and a walk that allowed Jared Everson (University of Minnesota) and Luke Wroblewski (Bryant and Stranton College) to drive two singles, scoring both runs. making it a one run ball game, but were unable to come out with the win. They strung 6 hits and had two errors on the field today. Chinooks starting pitcher, Jackson Bahn (Benedictine University) threw 5 innings, allowing 5 hits, 1 walk, while striking out 7.

Starting pitcher for the Rafters,  Jacob Rosenkranz (Valparaiso University) earns the win after throwing 6 innings and giving up 4  hits, 0 walks, and struck out 5.

Madison Mallards 2, Wausau Woodchucks 6

The Woodchucks defeat the Mallards after losing their first game 0-7 Monday night, making their record 1-1 to start. Brady Jurgella and Matt Mcgann each went 2-for-4 with a double. Michael Adair (University of Dayton) had 2 RBI on the evening.

Owen Jackson (University of Toledo) produced 2 RBI for the Mallards after two sac fly in the first and third inning. Keenan Taylor (Purdue University) went 3-for-4 on the night. Mallards allowed an extended lead after runners reached base on 6 errors from the Mallards defense. Mallards pitcher, Ryan Stefiuk (State College of Florida Manatee-Sarasota) got the start throwing 4 innings, 5 hits, 1 walk, and 6 strikeouts.

Alex Breckheimer (Bryant and Stranton College) gets the win for the Woodchucks after throwing  5.1 innings, 2 hits,  0 walks, 2 strikeouts, and allowed 0 runs.

Rockford Rivets 6, Traverse City Pit Spitters 7

A thrilling extra innings matchup between the Rivets and the Pit Spitters ends with a tenth inning walk-off (7-6) victory for the Pit Spitters. A leadoff walk, error, and a couple hits end the game making the Pit Spitters the first team to be 2-0 on the season.

Walker went 2-for-4 with 2 runs scored. Noah Jouras (Triton College) went 2-for-3 with 1 RBI while Bradley Wilson (South Georgia State College) had 2 RBI and 1 run in tonight’s game for the Rivets. Carson Knight got the start for the Rivets – throwing 3 innings, only giving up 3 hits and 3 walks with 1 strikeout.

Blake Bean (Lenoir-Rhyne University) went 1-for-3 with 2 runs scored. Infielders – Glenn Miller (Eastern Michigan University), Kyle Hayes (Kirkwood Community College), and Camden Traficante (Embry Riddle Aeronautical University) – each had an RBI on the night. Starting pitcher for the, Hayden Jatzack (Saginaw Valley State University) gets the win after throwing  1 innings and giving up  0 hits,  0 walks, and struck out 1 batter.

Kalamazoo Growlers 6, Kenosha Kingfish 2

The Growlers striked first with four runs scored in the first inning and tacked on one more insurance run to defeat the Kingfish 6-2. Vytas Valincius (University of Illinois) went 3-for-4 at the plate, scoring one of two runs for the Kingfish. Grayson Murry (Tyler Junior College) came in relief, getting 6 strikeouts in 4 innings. The Kingfish tallied the same number of hits as the Growlers, but were unable to string any more runs across.

Kalamazoo capitalized on a few free passes from Kenosha’s pitcher, allowing hitters to drive in four runs back in the first. Kalamazoo native, Korbin Griffin (Kalamazoo Valley Community College), went 3-for-4 with 1 run scored while Knight went 1-for-3 with 1 run scored as well.

Starting pitcher for the Growlers, Noah Keller (Cornell University) gets the win after throwing  6.2 innings and gave up 7  hits,  3 walks, and struck out 8 batters.

Fond du Lac Dock Spiders 5, Green Bay Rockers 9

The Rockers are now 2-0 to start their season after defeating the Fond du Lac Spiders 9-5  Tuesday evening.

Kyle West (University of Charleston) went 2-for-5 with 4 RBI at the plate and 2 runs scored after blasting two home runs on the night. AJ Anzai wnet 2-for-3 with 2 RBI and a run scored. Starting pitcher for the Rockers, Brett Sanchez (Belhaven University) gets the win after throwing  6 innings – giving up  4 hits,  2 walks, and struck out 5 batters.

Jared Heinzen (University of Wisconsin – Parkside) and Drew Barragan (Embry Riddle Aeronautical) led the Spiders offense tonight, both going 2-for-5 with a double against the Rockers. The Spiders staff combined for 11 hits on the night with 8 strikeouts.

Thunder Bay Border Cats 2, Mankato Moondogs 4

The Moondogs defeat the Border Cats 4-2 after losing to them in Game 1 of Monday night matchup. Both teams are now 1-1 to start.

Border Cats pitcher, Jack Pineau (Creighton University) gave up 5 hits in 6 innings pitched – striking out 8 batters. They had a slow offensive start to the game, only scoring 2 in the seventh inning. Dalton Mullins (Angelina College) and Jackson Bonneville (University of Jamestown) each had an RBI on the evening.

Easton Fritcher (University of Minnesota) went 2-for-4 at the plate with a double and 1 run scored. Elijah Borjas led the team with 2 RBI in a 1-for-4 effort on the evening for the Moondogs. Derrick Smith (North Carolina State University) gets the win after throwing 2 innings – giving up  2 hits,  0 walks, and struck out 2 batters.

St. Cloud Rox 11, Minot Hot Tots 0

St. Cloud’s offense came out strong with an explosive offense – scoring 11 runs on eleven hits t0 defeat the Minot Hot Tots 11-0. They are now 2-0 on the season.

Nic Pepe (Seminole State College of Florida) tallied the only hit in Minot’s offense going 1-for-3 on the evening.

Seven of the nine hitters in St. Cloud’s lineup scored a run in tonight’s game. Matt Goetzmann (University of Nebraska – Omaha) went 2-for-4 with 6 RBI, 3 runs scored and blasted two home runs. Neels Weber (University of Minnesota) went 4-for-5 with 3 runs scored and 2 RBI. Starting pitcher for the Rox, Piercen McElyea (Tarleton St University) gets the win after throwing 6 innings- giving up 1 hit, 1 walk, and struck out 6 batters.

Rochester Honkers 7, Waterloo Bucks 3

The Honkers are now 2-0 on the season after their defeat against the Waterloo Bucks. They tallied 13 hits on the night and 0 errors on defense.

Michael Lippe (University of Louisville) and Marcus Heusohn (Lindenwood University) each contributed to the game only 2 runs scored against the Honkers defense.

Griffen Sotomayor (Washington St University) has another solid evening at the plate for 3-for-5 with 3 RBI. Three players in the Honkers lineup had a double on the evening. Two of those doubles drove a run across for the Honkers to extend their lead 7-3. Jakob Guardado (Pasadena City College) was 1-for-3 with a walk 2 runs scored. Starting pitcher for Rochester, Daniel Zang (Dakota Community Tech College), gets the win after throwing  4.2 innings with  3 hits,  4 walks, and 2 strikeouts.

Eau Claire Express 2, La Crosse Loggers 4

The Loggers extend their record to 2-0 after defeating the Express in a 4-2 victory. Mic Paul (Louisiana State University) went 1-for-3 with 3 walks and 2 RBI on the evening. Brandon Hager was 2-for-3 with 2 runs scored. Starting pitcher for the Loggers, Kenan Elarton (University of Arizona) gets the win after throwing  6 innings – giving up   5 hits,  5 walks, and struck out 4 batters.

The Express were unable to come through with a win after posting 8 hits on the evening – one more than their opponent. Kaden Galason (Belmont University) went 2-for-4 with a hit by pitch and 2 runs scored.

Duluth Huskies 5, Bismarck Larks 7

The Bismarck Larks earn another win after defeating the Huskies in a 7-5 matchup to conclude the evening.

The Larks offense was led by Trenton Rowan (Seward County Community College) who went 2-for-4 with 2 RBI to add to the lead. Bismarck’s starting pitcher, Alec Danen (Viterbo University) gets the win after throwing  5 innings – giving up   5 hits,  5 walks, and striking out 2 batters.
