The Northwoods League featured a thirteen game slate that concluded with The Eau Claire Express and Rockford Rivets earning their fourth win in a row. The Battle Creek Battle Jacks swept Kokomo in their double header this evening, and stand with a 3-1 record and 13-24 overall as the Northwoods League begins their second half of the season.

 

Battle Creek 12, Kokomo 6**

The Battle Creek Battle Jacks defeated the Kokomo Jackrabbits 12-6 in game one of their series Thursday evening. The Battle Jacks start the second half of the season with a 2-1 record.

Charlie Rhee (San Diego St). went 1-for-1 with a walk, two RBI, and one run scored. Payton Mazzola (Madonna) also went 1-for-1 with a hit by pitch, one RBI, and one run scored. Alex Jarrell (Middle Georgia St) earned the win throwing 3.1 innings and allowed only two hits, one run, three walks, and two strikeouts.

Battle Creek 2, Kokomo 0

The Battle Jacks defeated Kokomo in game two of their double header, earning the series sweep on Thursday evening.

Riley Silva (Nebraska) and Luke Cheng (Illinois St) each went 1-for-3 at the plate. Cheng tallied one RBI on the night. Jacob Davis (Kalamazoo) earned the win throwing 7 innings – allowing two hits, zero runs, zero walks, and one strikeout.

Rochester 15, Thunder Bay 5

The Rochester Honkers take game one against the Border Cats, defeating them 15-5 Thursday evening.

Ben North (Creighton) went 5-for-6 with  a double, two home runs, eight RBI, and scored three times. Mattie Thomas (San Francisco) went 2-for-4 with two walks and a double. Paul Schoenfeld (Colorado Mesa) went 2-for-4 with one RBI and three runs scored. Cole Seward (Colorado Mesa) earned the win throwing 6 innings and allowed four hits, zero runs, one walk, and five strikeouts.

Rockford 11, Kalamazoo 6

The Rockford Rivets won game one of their series against Kalamazoo. The Rivets are now 4-0 in the second half of season, 24-14 overall.

Braden Duhon (McNeese St) went 3-for-5 with a double, four RBI, and one run scored. Tony Lindwedel (Notre Dame) went 2-for-4 with one RBI and two runs scored. Jack Scheri (Creighton) went 2-for-3 with a double and scored once. Nick Vollmert (Southern Wesleyan) earned the win throwing 4.1 innings – allowed zero hits, zero runs, two walks, and five strikeouts.

La Crosse 12 , Bismarck

The La Crosse Loggers rallied back in game one to defeat the Bismarck Larks 12-, scoring twelve runs on fifteen hits to tally another win. La Crosse is now 15-21 on the season.

Justin DeCriscio (San Diego) went 2-for-6 with two walks, three RBI, and two runs scored. Gabe D’Arcy (San Diego) went 3-for-5 with two RBI and one run scored. Aidan Sweatt (Liberty) tallied two hits with five RBI – . Michael Debattista (Dodge City Community College)earned the win throwing 6 innings and allowed six hits, three runs, zero walks, and five strikeouts.

Duluth 3, St. Cloud 4

The St. Cloud Rox scored four runs on seven hits to defeat the Duluth Huskies in game one of their series.

Jackson Hauge (Minnesota St – Mankato) went 2-for-3 with a double and one RBI. Kyle Jackson (Kent St) went 2-for-4 with one RBI and one run scored. Tommy Gross (Creighton) earned the win throwing 4 scoreless innings – allowing one hit, one walk, and four strikeouts.

Waterloo 2, Mankato 11

The Mankato MoonDogs defeated the Waterloo Bucks 11-2 Thursday evening in game one of their series. The MoonDogs earned their first win in the second half of the season.

Easton Fritcher (Minnesota) went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored. Ty Rumsey (Evansville) went 2-for-3 with a triple, two RBI, and two runs scored. Max Williams (Florida St) went 3-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI, and scored twice.

Wisconsin Rapids 4, Lakeshore 3

The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters defeated the Lakeshore Chinooks 4-3 Thursday evening, taking game one of the series.

Logan Hugo (Eastern Michigan) and Brendan Bobo (California St – Fullerton) each went 1-for-3 with one run scored. Ty Johnson (Baylor) went 1-for-2 with one RBI. Jack Bachmore (Lynchburg) earned the win throwing 2 innings and one hit, zero runs, one walk, and one strikeout.

Minnesota 5, Minot 8

The Minot Hot Tots defeated the Minnesota Mud Puppies in a 8-5 matchup. The Hot Tots are at a 1-2 start in the second half of play.

Ryan Recio (Seminole St. College of Florida) and Drew Woodcox (Texas Tech) each tallied two hits, two RBI, and one run scored. Jake Schulz (Concordia – Irvine) had one hit on the night with two RBI. Jack Smith (Golden West) earned the win throwing 5 innings – allowing three hits, four runs, and four strikeouts.

Madison 5, Kenosha 6

The Kenosha Kingfish won the first game of the series against the Madison Mallards

Vytas Valincius (Illinois) went 2-for-3 with a walk and one run scored. Camden Janik (Illinois) also went 1-for-3 – knocking a home run and scored twice. Matthew Morris (Mississippi) earned his fourth win on the mound throwing 3 innings and allowed four hits, three runs, two walks, and two strikeouts. Greg Martinez (Louisiana Tech) got the start throwing 4 innings – allowing four hits, two runs, and struck out seven.

Wausau 5, Green Bay 6

The Green Bay Rockers get the win against Wausau, taking game one of the series scoring six runs on seven hits and zero errors in the field.

Kendal Ewell (Kentucky) went 2-for-4 with one run scored. George Wolkow (South Carolina) and Cooper Kelly (Kansas) each had home runs on the night. Michael Riley (Gateway Community College) gets the win throwing 2 innings and allowed two hits, zero runs, zero walks, and one strikeout.

Traverse City 4, Fond du Lac 2

Glenn Miller (Eastern Michigan) and Colin Summerhill (Northern Illinois) each went 2-for-4 with an RBI and combined for three runs scored. Jared Ure (Colorado Mesa) earned his first win on the mound throwing 1 inning and allowed two hits, one run, one walk, and zero strikeouts. Nick Powers (Michigan St) got the start throwing 6.1 innings – allowing ten hits, one run, one walk, and struck out six.

Eau Claire 15, Willmar 5

The Eau Claire Express earned their fourth win in a row after defeating Willmar Stingers 15-5 Thursday evening.

Rayth Petersen (Illinois – Chicago) went 3-for-4 with three doubles, two RBI, and three runs scored. Camden Ross (Western Kentucky) went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and three runs scored. Reed Latimer (Montevallo) tallied two doubles with three RBI. Robert Hogan (Texas A&M) earned the win throwing 4 innings and allowed one hit, one run, three walks, and six strikeouts.
