Every week of the offseason leading up to the start of the 2018 St. Cloud Rox season on May 29, we will pick a former Rox player as the Player of the Week.

This week, it’s Josh Altmann, an infielder who played in St. Cloud during the 2015 season. Altmann, who is 23 years old, is currently playing with the Down East Wood Ducks in Class A Advanced ball in the Texas Rangers’ system.

In five games this past week, Altmann went 5-for-13 with four runs scored, a grand slam, four RBI and a stolen base. In 25 games with the Wood Ducks this season, Altmann has tallied 14 hits, four doubles, three home runs, 10 RBI, nine walks and two stolen bases.

Altmann appeared in four games with the Rox during the 2015 season before being drafted by the Rangers in the 22nd round that summer. During that span, he recorded a .231 batting average with three hits, one RBI and one walk.
