The St. Cloud Rox teamed up with the St. Cloud Fire Department to put together a very successful charitable event during the baseball club’s June 15th home game that raised $14,385.00 in support of the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation and MnFIRE, a statewide advocacy organization that equips area Firefighters with resources to address the growing health issues in the Minnesota fire service community.
The funds were raised through corporate partnerships, Rox hospitality packages, a silent auction of national sports memorabilia, Rox jerseys and local gifts, combined with the sale of specially made Firefighters T-Shirts and a Fill The Boot promotion for fans at the game to make a private donation.
“I think every person sees our Firefighters as local Heroes. As Teammates of our Community,” said Jim Loria, Corporate & Community Partnerships Director for the Rox. “The Rox are truly proud to serve as the outlet to help support these brave men and women!”
“On behalf of the St. Cloud Fire Department, I would like to express our gratitude to the Rox organization for giving us a platform to raise money for these great charitable foundations and to the event sponsors and community in general that continually shows our Firefighters tremendous love and support,” said Adam Bondhus, President of the Local 464 St. Cloud Professional Firefighters.
The Rox and St. Cloud Fire Department wish to thank the following businesses for their corporate partnership in helping make the fundraising event such a great success: Country Financial * Landwehr Construction * St. Cloud Financial Credit Union * BD Exteriors * Granite Logistics * HLS Outdoor * Al’s Ornamental Iron & Welding, Inc. * All Pro Powder Coating & Sandblasting.
