Waterloo, IA – In a game that had just one run across home plate through eight innings, St. Cloud (28-9) outlasted Waterloo (23-16) for a 3-0 victory.

This is the Rox’ fifth shutout of the season as they continue to build upon the best team ERA in the Northwoods League. Hunter Dollander (Georgia-Gwinnett) led the way on the bump with seven shutout innings to drop his season ERA to 0.69. Dollander struck out eight batters on the night and only allowed four hits to earn the win.

Connor Barison (Washington State) closed out the game for his fourth save of the season. Barison induced an inning-ending double play to work out of a jam in the eighth and then forced a pop-up that sealed the victory in the ninth.

St. Cloud only had one run through the first eight innings of the game as a pitchers’ duel ensued for most of Saturday’s action. The Rox added two insurance runs in the top of the ninth to add some cushion. Otto Kemp (Point Loma Nazarene) had the most important hit of the day with an RBI double out to right-center.

Caleb Ricketts (San Diego) knocked in the other two runs on the night. He brought in a run with a sacrifice fly in the third to give the Rox the early lead, then drove in the final run in the ninth with a ground out.
