Waterloo, IA – After falling behind early, St. Cloud (29-9) scored the final seven runs of the game to pull away for an 8-2 win and clinch the sweep of Waterloo (23-17).

The Rox erupted for four runs in the fifth inning which started with a two-RBI single off the bat of Jack Winkler (San Francisco). Those two runs gave the Rox the lead for good and St. Cloud tallied two more for good measure to extend the advantage to three runs.

In the ninth inning, St. Cloud added even more insurance with three runs across home plate. Cody Kelly (Minnesota) had the big hit to start the rally, sending a double off the right-field wall to bring in two more runs and extend the lead.

The bullpen had a huge day as Collin Romel (Kent State) made his first appearance as a reliever and threw three and two-thirds shutout innings, only allowing one hit on the day.

The Rox all-star closer Kevin Davis (USC Upstate) came on and got the final four outs to record his fifth save of the season. Davis struck out the first three batters he faced, including a three-pitch punchout to get out of a jam in the eighth.
