ST. CLOUD, MN—Oct. 4, 2021. The St. Cloud Rox Project S.A.V.E. Foundation announced today a $5,000 Grant Award to Central Minnesota Habitat For Humanity to help finish building the upper level of a Habitat home by using students from St. Cloud Tech High School.
The Grant funded by Project S.A.V.E. is made possible through the corporate support provided by Marco, Wells, CLA, and BankVista, and will help cover the costs for construction materials. The Tech students involved in the project are expected to gain valuable building industry experiences in the actual framing, installing, siding, roofing, and trim work needed to complete the home.
“We are so thankful for this Grant Award and Partnership,” said Chad Johnson, Executive Director for Central Minnesota Habitat For Humanity. “The St. Cloud Rox Project S.A.V.E. Foundation has funded amazing programs, and we are honored to use this gift to help educate local students at St. Cloud Tech High School in how to construct a new home for a family in Central Minnesota.”
“Our association with Habitat For Humanity blesses our students with real, practical job skills that they learn making this house,” said Leah Sams, Director of Secondary Curriculum, Career and Technical Education Programming at St. Cloud Tech.
Habitat projects are built at no cost for qualifying low-income families that reside in Stearns, Benton, Sherburne, and Wright Counties.
