Mankato, MN – St. Cloud (18-6) lost, 9-3, on Saturday night to Mankato (14-13), but remain in first place with four games of cushion in the standings.

Trevor Austin (Mercer) hit his first home run of the season in the fifth inning which gave the Rox a 3-1 lead. Austin drove in all three of the Rox’ runs on Saturday and finished the day with two hits.

In total, the Rox had 10 hits in Mankato, including four different players with multi-hit games. O’Neill Burgos (Southern), John Nett (St. Cloud State), and Ethan Mann (New Mexico State) each had two hits on the evening.

Brayden Gainey (Alabama) had another solid start on the mound. Gainey finished five innings in his second start of the season and only allowed three runs to come across for Mankato.

St. Cloud returns to the Rock Pile for a three-game homestand on Sunday afternoon to finish the series with the MoonDogs. First pitch from Joe Faber Field is scheduled for 4:05 pm.
