St. Cloud, MN – Brice Matthews avoided two tags from the catcher to score in the bottom of the 12th inning to walk-off a 4-3 victory for St. Cloud (24-6) over Eau Claire (17-14).

Matthews (Nebraska) stole the show on Friday night, hitting two home runs on the day and evading the catcher for the winning run. Matthews has ten hits in his last five games and hit lead-off homers in the first and fifth innings to lead the Rox’ bats.

Trevor Austin (Mercer) also had a strong game with two extra-base hits in the late innings. Austin doubled in the seventh and tripled in the ninth to give St. Cloud a chance to take the lead.

Late in the game, the Rox turned to Carson Keithley (Texas State) who shut down the Express bats from the ninth through the 12th. Keithley allowed no runs on no hits and struck out five batters to keep the game tied and give the bats a chance to walk it off.

Kaden Krowka (Tarleton State) had a strong start on the mound in his fifth appearance of the season. Krowka tossed six innings and struck out seven batters while holding the Express to just one run.
