St. Cloud, MN – St. Cloud (44-17) scored four runs in the sixth inning which ended up being the difference in a 6-2 victory over Waterloo (15-46) on Saturday.

Magnum Hofstetter (Hawai’i) was a large part of the Rox rally, finishing the day with two hits, including a double and scoring twice. Hofstetter scored the go-ahead run in the fifth before continuing the rally with an RBI single in the sixth.

Earlier in the game, Ethan Mann (Dallas Baptist) broke things open for the Rox with a triple to left field and scored on a Garrett Pennington (Wichita State) base hit. Mann ended a stretch of ten straight Rox players retired by Waterloo.

On the mound, Brayden Gainey (Alabama) put together a second straight great start against the Bucks. After seven solid innings last week against Waterloo, Gainey gave up just one run in his six innings on the mound on Saturday.

Carter Petron (Southwest Minnesota State) also had a great night on the bump in his first appearance since June. Petron gave up no earned runs in his two innings out of the bullpen in the eight and ninth, including a perfect inning to finish off the game.
